In August 2018, I made my first visit to Japan. During my visit, I gained much appreciation for the people of Japan, their culture and their history. I became aware of how little I know about Japan and their history. While I learned a very small amount of the history, it was amazing. For many years, Japan was isolated and only let international trade at Kobe. I flew into Osaka; had planned to fly out of Osaka, but Typhoon Jebi changed those plans. The bridge to the Osaka airport was damaged and the airport was flooded. I took the train to the Tokyo airport to fly home.
I joined Walk Japan for the Oita Hot Springs Tour. It was a very memorable tour - great hikes, people, onsens and food. Walking around towns, eating meals while wearing a yukata.
Japan has so much beauty.
